Why revision is harder than the first surgery
Once bone and tissue are damaged, both recovery and re-placement must be assessed together.

Implant revision is more demanding than the first surgery, because once bone and gum tissue are damaged we must assess both how far they can recover and whether an implant can be placed again.
According to the Korea Consumer Agency’s analysis of implant-related consumer consultations, the main types were peri-implantitis and failed osseointegration (33.8%), nerve damage and altered sensation (23.2%), and loss or fracture of the prosthesis (16.9%).
Because the causes vary this much, revision must begin by identifying the cause accurately.
